The Department of Environmental Supervision identified violations of the Waste Management Code in Tbilisi

Employees of the Environmental Patrol and Rapid Response Division of the Department of Environmental Supervision under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture identified five cases of violations of the Waste Management Code in the capital city.

In various districts of Tbilisi, citizens were openly burning tires, electrical wires, and hazardous waste.

Relevant violation reports were drawn up against the offenders.

During the open burning of municipal waste, toxic substances are released, posing a threat to the environment and human health. In order to minimize environmental violations and ensure effective state control over waste management, the patrol crews of the Department of Environmental Supervision conduct continuous 24-hour monitoring nationwide to ensure the timely prevention, detection, and suppression of environmental violations. Immediate action is taken in response to every report received through the Ministry’s hotline (153).
