The Department of Environmental Supervision identified a case of illegal sand and gravel extraction in rustavi
Employees of the Kvemo Kartli Regional Division of the Department of Environmental Supervision under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture have identified a case of illegal extraction of mineral resources in Rustavi.
The offender illegally extracted 10,262 cubic meters of sand and gravel using special machinery and also transported part of the extracted material.
The environmental damage caused by the violation amounts to GEL 154,137.
The case contains signs of a criminal offense, and the materials have been forwarded to the relevant authorities for further action.

The patrol crews of the Department of Environmental Supervision conduct continuous 24-hour monitoring. In addition, they provide immediate responses to all reports received through the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture’s hotline (153).
