The Department of Environmental Supervision Identified Violations of Hunting Regulations in Tbilisi
Employees of the Environmental Patrolling and Rapid Response Division of the Department of Environmental Supervision of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture identified five cases of violations of hunting regulations in Tbilisi.
Within the administrative boundaries of the city, in the vicinity of Telovani, an individual was found hunting with a firearm. In another case identified in the vicinity of Mukhatgverdi, an individual was found hunting with a smoothbore firearm while also using a prohibited device - a spotlight. The individual had also failed to pay the fee prescribed by law for the removal of migratory birds from the wild.
In the vicinity of Lisi Lake, Mukhatgverdi and Didi Lilo, Department employees identified three prohibited hunting devices - electronic bird-call devices, used to attract birds.
During the migratory bird hunting season, the Department of Environmental Supervision is further intensifying controls across the country. As part of efforts to combat poaching, the active use of modern technologies and the strengthening of the Department’s capacities significantly enhance the effectiveness of state environmental oversight.
The Department of Environmental Supervision urges citizens to strictly comply with hunting regulations and the requirements established by law.
