Integrated Environmental Control Service

Tasks of the Integrated Environmental Control Service:

 

a) To control compliance with the conditions specified by environmental impact permits, environmental permits, state environmental impact assessment conclusions, environmental impact assessment conclusions, decisions on the continuation of ongoing activities, environmental decisions, and environmental technical regulations;

b) To prepare methodological and guidance documents within the field of state control;

c) Within the scope of its competence, to review applications, complaints and letters and/or participate in their review;

d) To prevent, detect and suppress cases of illegal use of subsoil resources;

e) To exercise state control over ambient air, water and land (soil);

f) To exercise state control over waste management, except for nuclear and radioactive waste;

g) To exercise state control over environmental pollution caused by hazardous chemical substances or chemical mixtures;

h) To inspect compliance with quality standards for motor gasoline and/or standards for the composition of diesel fuel;

i) Within the scope of its competence, to collect and seal samples and conduct measurements;

j) At the end of each calendar year, to submit a report to the Head of the Department on the activities carried out;

k) To perform other tasks provided for by the legislation of Georgia within the scope of its competence.
