a) To monitor the condition of the protection of buildings and structures owned or used by the Department, firearms and ammunition, as well as the proper use of material assets and other resources by Department employees;
b) To exercise internal control over compliance by Department employees with discipline, legality and the protection of Department property (including through video surveillance in accordance with the procedure established by law), as well as to identify violations of the constitutional rights and legitimate interests of citizens, cases of misconduct and other unlawful acts; to examine applications, complaints and other information related to such facts; to obtain explanations from citizens on a voluntary basis and from Department employees, as well as to obtain information from them;
c) To identify cases of violations of the internal labor regulations by Department employees, improper performance of official duties, or commission of specific unlawful acts;
d) To identify cases of conflicts of interest involving Department employees and submit the relevant information to the Head of the Department;
e) Where necessary, to obtain recommendations and/or consultations from Department employees;
f) During an official inspection, upon request, to immediately obtain from a Department employee any necessary document or information;
g) In cases of disciplinary misconduct by Department employees, to submit to the Head of the Department a conclusion, together with the relevant case materials, concerning the application of an appropriate disciplinary measure;
h) Where signs of a crime are identified in the actions of a Department employee, to prepare the relevant case materials for submission, under the signature of the Head of the Department, to the appropriate law enforcement authorities;
i) To exercise internal control over the preparation by authorized Department employees of administrative offence reports and the documents required to be prepared during patrolling and/or inspection in accordance with the procedure for the exercise of state control by the Department established by Resolution No. 61 of the Government of Georgia dated February 17, 2015;
j) To examine the legality and proper purpose of the planning, allocation and use of material and financial resources in accordance with the procedure established by law;
k) To examine and analyze the rational use of material and commodity assets; to identify cases of shortages of material and commodity assets and prepare relevant conclusions for the Head of the Department;
l) Where violations of legislation are identified, to determine the causes and contributing factors and submit relevant conclusions to the Head of the Department;
m) To examine and analyze the materials and information obtained and submit conclusions to the Head of the Department aimed at preventing possible violations and deficiencies;
n) For the purpose of determining the disciplinary liability of Department employees, to be guided by Chapter X of the Law of Georgia on Public Service;
o) At the end of each calendar year, to submit a report to the Head of the Department on the activities carried out;
p) To perform other tasks provided for by the legislation of Georgia within the scope of its competence.
